A week that has lasted a lifetime

Here she is! Christina Isabel Falconer....

.... born 7 lbs 13 oz on 10th August 2006 ....

.... mummy and daddy both exhausted ....

.... but very proud and happy ....

.... here's what she arrived in - the fabulous home birthing pool, which helped bring her out in record time for a first baby: the midwife recorded a delivery time of 2 hours and 5 minutes! What an amazing experience! And the pool will make a great kiddies paddling pool (when half inflated) in a couple of years! The baby sling is also proving a big hit.

And finally, proving what a water baby she really is - this pic was taken tonight (17th Aug) - a week old and having her first bath. What you don't see is the expression of utter horror accompanied by blood-curdling cries that followed shortly after! But we're her parents, we can put up with anything now!

Many thanks to everyone for your kind wishes, phone calls, emails, cards and gifts - we appreciate it so much. As they say, nothing can prepare you for parenthood, and the support we've had has really helped us through.

Hello and welcome...

Well hello!

Welcome to the Falconer Family Blog! A new venture for our little family of three, hopefully to become four within the next two or three weeks...

Here's our new house in Rosyth, near Dunfermline. Since we moved in we've managed to unpack, decorate the house, install garden decking, paving and a new shed which houses both dog and bikes, and get a new car to replace the Peugeot which had become a target for any reckless driver who cared to hit it.

So here is Sam's new pad - he sleeps in the nearest end of the shed, which has his own private door, and is partitioned off from the rest of the shed. As Mike said, it's like our first child has grown up and left home....

So very soon we'll be focusing on another child in the family (what? a dog isn't a child? really?) and never fear, Sam will be welcomed by the little one bringing a special squeaky toy, carefully put to one side at the moment.

And just in case you are concerned as to how I'm doing at 38 weeks pregnant, here's me working hard on the new decking....

And one last thing .... here's Mike's very own new baby:

... a Honda CG125, which he bought shiny and almost-new with only 80 miles on the clock two weeks ago, so any little scratches that appear on it are a major tragedy! But I must admit, it's a beauty, not that I'll be on it any time soon!

That's all for now.... will be in touch if there is any news.... :-)
